<p>Done nappies, braved the buggy wars at soft play and driven the family SUV that turns like a barge into the ground? Now they’ve flown the nest (or at least become a bit easier to transport) you’re ready for something smaller – and a whole lot cooler.</p>



<p>Or perhaps you’ve not done the mum thing and just fancy a car that looks good and you don’t have to spend hours trying to park?</p>



<p>Either way, it’s time for some motoring joy – MINI style. Enter the&nbsp;2025 MINI Convertible. A hot lady car that lets you still be&nbsp;you&nbsp;— roof down and latte in hand.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-looks">THE LOOKS</h2>

<p>Redesigned for the 2025 model year, MINI has brought the Cooper model back as small hatchback or convertible, with slightly reimagined aesthetics, a fun driving character and added tech. </p>



<p>Mine, a sleek two-door MINI Cooper S (Sport) Convertible, is very cool indeed. We’re talking Union Jack taillights and a roof that folds down in 18 seconds. There’s a subtle ‘S’ on the octagonal front grille and on the rear badge (no boy racer vibes here, thank you very much). Game on.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-drive">THE DRIVE</h2>



<p>Fast and feisty. The Cooper S is quick –&nbsp;0–60 in around 6.5 seconds, which means it’s super nippy. Bigger than the 1.5 litre 3-cylinder MINI Cooper C engine, the MINI Cooper S is a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder and turbocharged to 204hp, compared to the 156hp of the C engine.</p>



<p>Out and about, overtaking tractors on Hampshire country roads or weaving through town traffic becomes&nbsp;just a little bit thrilling in the MINI Convertible. It handles like it’s on rails and makes you feel like you’re in your twenties again – but with better taste (and less drama). For those lucky enough to still be there, you’re living your best life in this little beauty. The suspension feels a little bit firm (especially on lumpy B-roads). But honestly, it’s worth it for the handling. Bonus: it’s&nbsp;tiny, so you can squeeze it into parking spaces your neighbour’s Volvo wouldn’t dare attempt.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-fuel-amp-power-consumption">FUEL &amp; POWER CONSUMPTION</h2>

<p>Pretty decent – around 40mg (as long as you’re not permanently putting the pedal to the metal).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-cool-stuff">COOL STUFF</h2>



<p>My favourite thing about the MINI Convertible has to be the way the roof just slides on open. The Apple CarPlay (thank you, Spotify), reversing cam and a very satisfying dashboard with retro toggles also make you feel like you’re piloting something fabulous.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-price-tag">THE PRICE TAG</h2>



<p>From £33,265 on the road. The MINI Convertible can get pricer if you start ticking options (but darling, you deserve them!).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-muddy-verdict">THE MUDDY VERDICT</h2>



<p>No one’s pretending this is a people carrier. But the MINI Convertible&nbsp;works&nbsp;if you’ve got one or two little ones – or if your teens still fit into the back without complaint. If you’re kid-free or looking for a distinctly un-mumsy car, the&nbsp;MINI Cooper S Convertible&nbsp;is fun, feisty, practical enough and fabulous to drive – a bit of automotive sass, style and sanity&nbsp;in your everyday life.</p>



<p><strong>Good for:</strong> Even small journeys feel like a joyride in the MINI Convertible. It looks cute, it’s easy to park and it’s very straightforward to slip the roof down.</p>



<p><strong>Not for:</strong> The rear seats are great for small children or flexible teens but those with long legs and adults will want to ride in the front. The boot’s not massive on the Convertible – this is not your IKEA run car – and you might find the ride is a bit firm if you’re downsizing from a bigger car.</p>
