<p>Fresh from a £100,000 revamp, this isn’t your average hotel gym – with top PTs to motivate and the latest kit, it’s a tech-powered wellness space that somehow makes working out feel (dare we say it?) exciting.</p>

<p>We were welcomed by the wonderfully upbeat Jess Tugwell – Personal Trainer, Life Coach and all-round fitness cheerleader at Careys Manor Hotel &amp; SenSpa – who immediately put us at ease. She guided us through the new Technogym setup, including the clever app that syncs seamlessly with the equipment. Think AI-driven, personalised programmes tailored to your goals, whether you’re training at home, in the gym or outdoors. Plus – if you’re a member here – the ability to book classes, a swimming lane or check which machines are free before you even arrive. Genius.</p>



<p>In the name of research, I brought along Mr. Muddy (a regular gym-goer), and together we braved the Technogym Checkup scanner. Shoes off, we each stood patiently as it whirred into action, analysing everything from balance and mobility to strength and body composition. Within minutes, we were presented with our “Wellness Age™” – a snapshot of how our bodies are performing compared to our actual age.</p>

<p>The scan breaks things down into four key pillars – body composition, strength, balance and mobility – creating a personalised picture of your health. Pretty enlightening – although I would have been a bit lost without Jess to talk me through what everything meant.</p>



<p>My results? Let’s just say there’s room for improvement (turns out a weekly swim and a good walk doesn’t quite cut it). But thanks to Jess’s endlessly positive approach, I left feeling motivated rather than mortified. In fact, I’ve already committed to returning for a re-scan after a stint of strength training. Accountability, unlocked.</p>

<p>Gym-keen Mr. Muddy, meanwhile, delivered an annoyingly stellar performance – apparently one of the best scores Jess has seen. Naturally. Like me, he was seriously impressed with how the Technogym app and equipment all synced together.</p>



<p>Post workout, we fully embraced the “reward” part of wellness. A delicious Thai lunch in the SenSpa restaurant, followed by a blissful session in the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. Because balance, right?</p>
