<p>Perfectly timed for the lovely weather we&#8217;ve been having lately, Superflashy&#8217;s found some rather lovely new alfresco restaurants. In Fareham, the <a href="https://hants.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/solent-hotel-and-spa/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Solent Hotel &amp; Spa</a> has opened their new <a href="https://www.solenthotel.co.uk/food-drink/solent-fyr-grill/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FYR (fire) restaurant</a>. Expect locally sourced grilled meats, seafood, British classics and tasty fine-dining dishes, with fresh dishes fired up on the grill and served on the terrace.</p>

<p>Summer has well and truly arrived at <a href="https://www.fourseasons.com/hampshire" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Four Seasons Hampshire</a> too &#8211; with a slice of <em>la dolce vita</em>. Just opened, <a href="https://www.fourseasons.com/hampshire/dining/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">La Terrazza</a> is brand new alfresco terrace restaurant combining an Italian menu with beautiful Hampshire countryside views. </p>

<p>Created by Chef Pizzaiolo Angelo Doganieri, there&#8217;s stone-baked pizzas cooked in a traditional pizza oven with artisanal cheeses and hand-baked breads with fresh salads, Italian cold cuts and Italian-inspired cocktails. Cin cin! </p>



<p>And there&#8217;s much rejoicing in <a href="https://hants.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/hampshire-iow/petersfield/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Petersfield</a> at the return of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100092416097198" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Annie Jones</a> restaurant. Popular year round but especially in summer for its hidden indoor-outdoor terrace tables, the Lavant Street stalwart closed its doors just under a year ago. It has now been reopened by Dom Humphries, the owner of the popular Townhouse bar and restaurant. Eager diners can a expect menu of French bistro classics made using local ingredients.</p>

<p>Sundowner, anyone? New at the historic Botley Mills in Botley, near Southampton, <a href="https://www.1086winebar.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">1086 Wine Bar &amp; Charcuterie</a> is fresh from the team behind Muddy Awards 2023 finalist Botley Restaurant. Mull over an extensive cocktail menu and wine list with cheese and charcuterie platters to nibble on. </p>



<p>Get it right and the avo-brunches café by day slash cool cocktail bar by night can be a really winning formula &#8211; and one that the new <a href="https://www.instagram.com/envyandover/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Envy lounge bar</a> on the High Street in Andover is certainly hoping to nail. </p>

<p>Word has also reached Superflashy that there&#8217;s not long to wait for Portsmouth’s new Sky Bar at the <a href="https://www.spinnakertower.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Spinnaker Tower</a> in Gunwharf. Open every Thursday to Sunday night from 8pm &#8211; Midnight, the first signature cocktails will be poured on Thursday 22 June.</p>



<p>Fancy a freebie? There are special Golden Tickets being hidden about town. We&#8217;ve no idea where except they&#8217;re all in places that can be seen from the tower’s 23-mile view. Gimmicky, sure, but who doesn&#8217;t love a free cocktail? <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Offbeet opens in Southsea</h2>

<p>Tasty (plant-based) taco anyone? Whether you&#8217;re vegan or not, there&#8217;s plenty of tasty café food on the menu at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/offbeet_southsea/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Offbeet Southsea</a>. A sister site to the fine dining <a href="https://www.offbeetfood.com/menu-new-forest/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Offbeet New Forest</a> restaurant at The Retreat New Forest, near Christchurch, the new casual meat-free eatery on the Albert Road is open on Wednesdays to Sundays for brunches and lunches.</p>



<p>Speaking of Southsea indies, Superflashy recently spotted the rather lovely new deli-esque <a href="https://www.instagram.com/southsealocal/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Southsea Local</a> coffee and provisions shop on Marmion Road. Foodies beware &#8211; your credit card WILL take a hit.</p>

<p>And the winner is&#8230; Chariya Khattiyot! Already a Master coffee roaster, the <a href="https://www.coffeecherry.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Alton coffee shop owner</a> and Hampshire local proved she&#8217;s a talented Masterchef too. When the results of the 2023 final were announced, Chariya broke down in tears &#8211; causing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace to shed a few too. </p>



<p>Long term, her ambition is to open a chain of restaurants serving up food from her native Northern Thailand &#8211; hopefully starting right here in Hampshire!</p>

<p>Welcome home baby Moon! The owners of <a href="https://millersark.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Miller&#8217;s Ark Animals</a> were understandably distraught when their beautiful little foal was snatched from her petting zoo home near Hook. When the news broke huge social media outcry and a joint operation between Hampshire and Isle of Wight constabulary, Surrey police and Thames Valley police quickly ensued. </p>



<p>Happily, after more than two weeks, she was found in good health and reunited with her delighted donkey mum. And having made local and national headlines, little Moon is now quite the celebrity. Hee awwww!</p>
