<p>One for the foodies – and food lovers! Coming soon to the luxe Lime Wood hotel at Lyndhurst, <a href="https://www.limewoodhotel.co.uk/events/the-forest-kitchen" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HH&amp;Co &#8211; The Forest Kitchen</a> is an exciting new outdoor pop up restaurant “all about fire-led cooking, exceptional ingredients, and seasonal dishes”. Held over a series of summer Sundays (starting 8 June), it’ll feature an exciting roster of guest chefs. Among them, the hotel’s own celeb duo, Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder.</p>



<p>Top talent from top London restaurants will also whip up fresh seafood, Mediterranean flavours and indulgent seasonal dishes. Jorge Paredes of OMA, Tom Brown, Michelin head chef at The Capital Hotel and Jess Filbey of Canteen. Cook, food writer and broadcaster, Valentine Warner and farmer, chef and food writer, Julius Roberts will also pair up for a special event.</p>

Hampshire’s own culinary talent <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DH_eojLIwKs/?hl=en-gb">Daniel Rogan</a> is poised to return to Southampton with a new restaurant venture! Coming soon to Oxford Street, AO is now set to become <a href="https://www.instagram.com/albumsouthampton/">Album</a>. When it does open, Muddy’ll be first in line for a table.</p>

Just opened in Winchester, a new <a href="https://www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/chocolate-shops/winchester" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hotel Chocolat</a> has filled the void left by Hobbs with its yummy chocolatey wares and Velvetiser café. Err, see you in the queue.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-marwell-s-wild-new-eatery">Marwell&#8217;s wild new eatery</h2>



<p>What’s new at the zoo? Just in time for the half term, a shiny new 300-seater café. And it&#8217;s stocked with tasty local produce from Hoxton Bakehouse, Owtons butchers, Hambledon Vineyard, Judes Ice Cream and more. Open to local walkers and cyclists as well as visitors – customers at <a href="https://www.marwell.org.uk/keeperskitchen/">The Keeper&#8217;s Kitchen</a> can soak up the surroundings from the new outdoor terrace and sip a morning coffee (or glass of Hampshire sparkling) overlooking Black Swan Pond while listening to the wild sound of gibbons calling.</p>

<p>Big shopping news from indie gift and lifestyle brand <a href="https://figandfox.co.uk/">Fig &amp; Fox.</a> First opened in their nearby town of Romsey with a second shop in Basingstoke’s Festival Place, owners Helen and James Mitchell have just made a big announcement. They’re opening not one but two more shops in Winchester and Salisbury! Collaborating with local designers and likeminded companies, the covetable wares include independently crafted and ethically sourced gifts, plants, accessories, speciality food and homewares.</p>

<p>Despite not swaying the European voting public at Eurovision this year (boo), the party isn’t over yet for <a href="https://www.remembermonday.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Remember Monday</a>. <a href="https://hants.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/latest-news/superflash-local-girls-head-for-eurovision-and-ricky-pulls-the-pints/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">As reported by Muddy</a>, the local musical trio first met at college in Farnborough. We learned later that they filmed the video for the (sadly prophetic) song ‘<em>What the hell just happened’</em> at Emsworth’s Hollybank House. However, having won hearts on home soil, they’re rumored to have signed a seven-figure deal with Andrew Lloyd Webber. And they&#8217;re all set for a <a href="https://www.remembermonday.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UK tour</a>, including Capital’s sell-out Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium. Closer to home, see them at The Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth, on 20 October 2025.</p>
