<p>Living the vintage life on the Isle of Wight. With antique homewares, collectables and preloved fashion from the likes of Biba, even if you don’t find a frock in your size you won’t need to dig too hard in Dig for Vintage to find some other new-to-you treasures.</p>

<p>Championing sustainable brands, slow fashion pieces and authentic vintage items, this retro shop in the village of Alverstoke is full of nostalgic looks from every era, from wiggle dresses to mod styles, 40s collared secretary looks and 80s neon. The shop itself is currently closed but the online site is still very much open for business.</p>

<p>Another excellent vintage shop on the Island, The Velvet Pig’s famous window displays were singled out for praise by Queen of Shops Mary Portas, no less. More recently, the shop ranked in <em>The Telegraph</em>’s <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/shopping/best-independent-boutiques-britain/#south">Best Independent Boutiques</a> for “60s psychedelia and ’70s Abigail’s Party vibes” – which pretty much sums up why you should hop off the FastCat and head straight here.</p>

<p>A proper nostalgia trip, this father-daughter duo have brought retro magic to Dragon Street with a two-in-one treasure trove. Andy Sworn handles the vinyl, CDs and cassettes, while daughter Ellie curates dreamy vintage fashion from the 1930s to early 2000s – think 80s panel skirts, cool print tees and timeless menswear. One for the true retro romantics.</p>
