Take that festive prep to the next level. Fashion your very own Christmas Wreath at one these fab workshops around the counties (plus a few other Christmas-themed crafts as well).
What is it about the unstoppable rise of Christmas wreath-making? Everybody goes absolutely mad for them with almost every door in the counties adorned with festive foliage by mid-November.
If you fancy having a crack at creating your own, we aren’t short on workshops in Hants and IoW with lots springing up over the next few weeks (some come with free festive tipple btw). But be quick to book as tickets are selling like hot mince pies. Secateurs at the ready, let’s go!

Outside-In with EHT Floristry, (Sun 24 Nov, 12pm – 2pm) £50pp including lunch
Giving you all the festive vibes mixed with it’s awesome brand of street style, Outside-In in Portsmouth is holding its first-ever wreath making workshop with EHT Floristry. As well as using foliage to create an awesome door bauble, you can also get some brilliant street food (including the Hampshire Street Food award-winning Dumpling Dumpling) as part of your ticket price.
Burley Manor (Tues 26 Nov, 10am), £50pp
Be Lady of the Manor with an in-depth wreath making workshop with Lauren Challis from Concept Flowers. On top of the skills and tips to make your door decor top-notch, there’s also a fabulous tapas-style lunch afterwards.
Rabbit and the Rose, Basingstoke, (Fri 29 & Sat 30 Nob, 2:30pm & 7pm, Fri 6 Dec, 2:30pm & 7pm) £55pp
Muddy Award-winning florist Rabbit and the Rose is THE place in Basingstoke to get your garland on this season. As well as being foam-free (yay for the environment!), Steph will work her magic to help you create the perfect door hanging in small intimate groups of six or less.

Peony Blue’s wreath workshop usually sell out WAAAAYYY in advance (and we can totally see why), but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on their Christmas crafty fabulousness, no, no, no! They have five sessions to get your Christmas garland up and ready. Book up fast though to avoid a mad dash for a sad supermarket wreath on Christmas Eve.

For those who take their garlands seriously and know a thing or two about floral design, Catkin & Pussywillow are offering wreath making for beginners and the more advanced. With a wreath making and garland workshop, you can create one piece or deck out your entire home for the Christmas season with its expert guidance. It books up fast though, so be quick!
Elly and Hayley, St Mary Bourne Village Hall, (Sun 1, Wed 4 & Sat 7 Dec, 11am-2:3opm), £45pp
Guided by florist, Eloise Roberts and interior designer, Hayley Stuart, you can craft a fantastic wreath of winter foliage for your front door with a good side-helping of village charm. Situated in the small village of St Mary Bourne, you’ll be treated to some expert knowledge, a festive lunch and treats (and isn’t this what the season is all about?) plus a pretty fabulous creation to take home.
Bel and the Dragon, Kingsclere, (Sun 8 & Thu 12 Dec, 7:30pm), £45pp
Calling on the skills of Susie Babington of Susie Babington Gardens, you can join the team at the Bel and the Dragon in Kingsclere for an evening of festive wreath making (with the added bonus of a seasonal cocktail and canapés). Not only has this country inn got some major swag with their food, but its the perfect countryside setting to get in the spirit.
La di da and Blooming Cow, Andover, (Sat 7 & Sat 14 Dec, 10am – 12pm & 1:30pm – 3:30pm), £65pp
You had better be quick to book this one, as they always lead up to the season. Combining the gift-giving forces of La di da and Becky from Blooming Cow Flowers, you can add an extra bit of spectacle into your festive wreath here. Along with the usual foliage and florals, they’ve also got some free-range pheasant feathers to add a good slog of countryside charm. Included in your ticket is a glass of Prosecco, tea and coffee, and the promise of lots of mince pies.
The George, Yarmouth (Mon 2 & Mon 9 Dec, 10am – 12:30pm) £48pp
Pop along to the rather beautiful The George in Yarmouth for a festive wreath making workshop with Dianne Wheeler from Bonne Fleur Florist. As well as all the bits and pieces to make your garland you’ll also get a festive two-course meal at The George as well, which is worth the ticket price in itself.
Orchid Furniture Wreath Making, Stockbridge (Thurs 5 Dec, 10am – 12:3pm) £55pp
While they are normally associated with fantastic furniture, Orchid will be spoiling us this festive season with its awesome wreath making workshop, led by superstar florist Sophie Anderson. Sophie is known for her sumptuous displays and love of velvet and attendees can also get discounts across the shop as well for that added bit of Christmas cheer.
New Forest Lavender Farm, (Tue 10 Dec, 2pm – 4.30pm & 7pm – 9.30pm), £49.50pp
For a fragrant and slightly unusual take on the festive adornment, the New Forest Lavender Farm are holding their own wreath making workshop where you can add a little bit of that purple foliage into the mix. Along with your materials, your costs include tea, coffee and some of their handmade lavender shortbread (oooh, yes please).
National Trust Sandham Memorial Chapel, Burghclere (Fri 13, Sat 14, Sun 15 Dec, 10am – 12pm & 1pm – 3pm) £33pp + admission
You know that the National Trust do Christmas very well and this is a brilliant opportunity to get in the Christmas spirit with some beautiful surroundings. Featuring foliage and cinnamon sticks for that perfect Yuletide scent, you also have access to the grounds for some inspo as well.
Chewton Glen Christmas Flowers, (Mon 16 Dec) £115pp for beginners, £125pp for advanced
Go full luxe with your garland making with these expert-led (and, boy do we mean expert!) workshops at Hotel of the Year Chewton is holding two masterclasses of perfect festive foliage for both beginners (afternon session) and experts (morning session). Along with guidance from Chewton Glen hotel florists Sarah Wilkins and Nicole Rowe, you also get a two-course meal as well.
ChilliWinter Candle Making, Various Locations across the Island, up until Sun 22 Dec
If you fancy something all the more fragrant then how about creating some candles with ChilliWinter on the Wight. With loads workshops running from now right up until the 22nd, at places such as The Garlic Farm, Caffe Isola, Cavanagh & Baker, Chessell Pottery and Brownrigg’s Farm Shop (I told you there were loads!) these 2.5 hour workshops will get you creating beautiful handmade candles to give as gifts or keep all for yourself!
Festive Papercraft Workshop, Sandham Memorial Chapel, Burghclere, (7 Dec, 10:45am – 12:45pm) £17pp + admission
Remember making paper chains as a kid? Then how about reinvigorating that forgotten art form with this papercraft workshop at a National Trust gem. Stamping, die-cutting and embossing, all things you can do to jazz up gift boxes and cards for the festive season.
Orchid Furniture Wrapping Workshop, Stockbridge, (Tue 3 Dec, 9am – 12:30pm & 2pm – 5pm)
I always say I’m good at many things, but wrapping presents is definitely not one of them! With that in mind, this workshop at Orchid certainly caught my eye. Led by Harrods trained Master Present Wrapper, Suzannah Jackson, you can turn the presents under the tree into beautiful works of art. Sharing tips and tricks, plus a goodie bundle of wrapping paraphernalia to take home with you, your gifts will look almost too good to unwrap.
