Pylewell Park

This gorgeous 17th-century manor sits in the heart of the New Forest and offers a range of different options for brides and grooms. Whether you want the historic glamour of the building itself or the more modern Pylewell Pavilion, there’s also a church next door if you wanted a religious element to your wedding.

With 1500 acres of land to work with, plus a private beach and lake, this is a fantastic spot for you and 150 of your guests to party in the Hampshire countryside.

Penton Park

This opulent country house in north-west Hampshire is the ideal location for your nuptials. Not only is the whole place geared up purely for weddings – with a range of settings and sizes to choose from – but as a family home as well, it’s a very personal affair getting wed here. With space for 85 guests at your ceremony and 150 evening guests, it even has its very own micro-brewery on site as well.

Riverside Lifestyle

Just outside of Winchester, Riverside Lifestyle is one of the most exclusive wedding venues in Hampshire and only hosts around five a year. This incredibly intimate spot is geared up for the outdoors and has a range of options – including marquees, yurt, glamping bell tents for guests – for your nuptials. There’s space for up to 200 guests for a picture-perfect countryside wedding.

Chewton Glen

One of Hampshire’s most famous hotels, Chewton Glen has some brilliant options for those looking to get wed in style. With packages including Icing on the Cake and In An English Country Garden, there are a number of options for every budget. They even have an elopement package where you can get married in one of the Treehouses – how romantic!

Hotel du Vin, Winchester

With two rooms to get married in plus amazing food and drink to celebrate with, Hotel du Vin in Winchester is a great choice for an intimate – but trendy – wedding, catering up to 150 guests. The wine cellar here is stocked to the brim with fantastic vintages and the Georgian townhouse oozes with style. It also has its own Victorian Walled Garden, perfect for a relaxed drinks reception and rooms for guests to stay the night.

Southampton Harbour Hotel

For something super modern in a city setting, The Southampton Harbour Hotel is ideal. With its marina based location, you and your guests can enjoy a fantastic view over the Solent (one of the wedding suites has its very own rooftop area), 5* service and excellent food.

HMS Warrior

Whether you have naval links or not, the HMS Warrior in Portsmouth is possibly one of the quirkiest places to get married in Hampshire – if not the UK! This Victorian ironclad frigate now hosts a range of events and can be hired for your wedding. With ceremony space for up to 25 guests, and reception space for up to 100, this is an utterly unique place to tie the knot.

The Wellington Arms

Located on the Wellington Estate, home to the Dukes of Wellington, The Wellington Arms in Stratfield Turgis has all the charm of a country pub but with some excellent modern touches. The Wellington Suite can host up to 140 guests, within easy reach of towns such as Reading and Basingstoke. There are also 25 sumptuous rooms for your guests to stay in as well. If you’re not getting married for a while yet, it’s worth keeping an eye on this spot as they have just started to create the most amazing outdoor wedding garden as well.

Enchanted Manor

Sweet, whimsical and utterly bonkers. The Enchanted Manor in Niton, on the southern end of the Isle of Wight, is romance personified. The ancient manor house is steeped in history and now provides a magical backdrop for intimate weddings. You can hire the venue out exclusively, complete with it numerous fairy statutes and Liberace-esque decor, for a wedding ranging from just yourselves to 60 guests.

Well, if it’s good enough for Queen Victoria… Did you know that you can hire out Osborne House as a wedding venue? This English Heritage building is known for being Queen Victoria’s favourite place in the world, and where she and Prince Albert raised their family. You can choose from no less than seven settings (including the beach) to have your ceremony (ranging from 30 to 120 people) and they can even cater for up to 2,500 guests (Yes, 2,500!) for your reception.

Quay Arts

For some industrial cool with your nuptials, then Quay Arts in Newport may be the ideal spot. This art and theatre space comes complete with red brick interior walls, speciality vegan food options and a culture vulture pedigree.

The Little Kitchen Company

For a one-stop catering spot, The Little Kitchen Company should definitely be on your radar. This award-winning catering firm covers everything from canapes to fully formal dinners, with food sourced from as close to Hampshire as possible. They even do fancy picnics if you were looking for something low-key for a small do or elopement.

Cottonworth Wines

The Test Valley-based Cottonworth Wines make an excellent alternative to Champagne for your guests. With two types to choose from, the Classic Cuvée and Rosé Sparkling, the grapes are grown in the Hampshire countryside before heading to another Muddy fave, Hattingley Valley Wine, to be fermented.
Berry Brothers & Rudd, Warehouse Shop, Basingstoke

If you’re a huge foodie and particular about your wine, then make sure a visit the Basingstoke-based warehouse shop of Berry Brothers & Rudd is on your wedding to-do list. This London wine merchant has been selecting vintages for over 300 years and with that huge knowledge, the Hampshire store is stocked to the brim with excellent wine. Choose from a range of 400 wines starting at £5, up to £1,000 for a bottle.

This cake company is run by the mega-talented Alice Gates, and she can create bespoke cakes for any occasion – in particular weddings. Whether you want a 3-tiered traditional fruitcake or mini-cupcakes for all your guests, Alice will work with you to find the perfect flavour and style to suit your tastes. You CAN have your cake and eat it!

Absolutely nothing misses her gaze – every little look, those tiny little touches that make a wedding really special – Gemma will spot those and snap them for posterity. The Hampshire-based photographer has travelled all over the world over for her craft, from Mykonos (photo above) to France, London and Hampshire as well. Specialising in delicate, feminine imagery, and reportage style, she is a fantastic choice of snapper for your big day, and I can vouch for that personally as she took MY wedding photos!
