Vive la révolution!  Les Misérables is a classic show and continues to enchant audiences both on stage (as well as screen – partly filmed in Hampshire, no less!) many, many years after it first appeared as a live performance. The show will be taking over the Mayflower for the majority of November and bringing classic show tunes such as I Dreamed A Dream and Do You Hear the People Sing? to the stage. Bring your hankies, it’s a tearjerker.

MUSIC: Jack the Ripper: The Musical, The Point, Eastleigh, Tues 19 – Sat 23

Serial killer meets show tunes? Ok then… This musical reconstruction of the events that occurred on the darkened streets of Whitechapel back in 1888 is tipped to be the ultimate Cockney Knees-Up. Expect plenty of thigh slapping and Ding Dongs (that’s Cockney for songs doncha know).

THEATRE: Dead Funny, Plaza Theatre, Romsey, Tues 19 – Sat 23

Held at Romsey’s gorgeous little art deco theatre, the Romsey Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society owns and performs offbeat community productions. This week sees Terry Johnson’s quirky production Dead Funny,  apparently full of nudity, Benny Hill, custard pie fights and dark comedy.
