I've been tapping up my resources and doing my best detective work to bring you all the latest goss from around these parts.
Quick, quick! Come here I’ve got SO much to tell you, I’m fit to burst.
NEW BAR ALERT
Dig out that flapper number and invest in a zoot suit, I’ve found out that a members-only speakeasy is opening up in a super-secret Southsea location this month. Dubbed Broken and Repaired, it officially launches on the 29 November and is set to be something pretty special for those in-the-know. With gorgeous looking cocktails, copper fixtures, a wall of rubber ducks (quirky, non?) along with that hip speakeasy vibe, it looks plucked straight out of the 1920s via Shoreditch. We are already LOVING the sound of it and can’t wait to take a look inside. Knock, knock!
TABLE 22 ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL OPENING
The opening date has been announced for Greg Emmerson’s fab new restaurant, Table 22 located in Wickham’s Old House Hotel (also being refurbished by the new ownership and it’s looking pretty amazing). As of Saturday 8 December, you can book in for yourself to try their fantastic food and cocktails – just in time for Christmas. Keep your peepers on the site for an imminent review.
JOSIE EASTWOOD’S NEW GALLERY
Fabulous artist and Muddy Award winner, Josie Eastwood opened her long-awaited new gallery space on the Sun 11 November. Hooray! Located in Stockbridge it looks absolutely amazing and, to celebrate, she’s having a special exhibition up until Sat 24th November and a couple of pop-ups in December featuring local artists and creators. I know you’re all going to love it!
Gunwharf is opening even MORE new stores (yes, yes, yes!) but the one I’m most excited about is American Vintage, set to open its doors on Saturday 17 November. Offering brilliant well-made basics, this French (yes, I know… bit confusing that one) company has previously been available in Harvey Nicks but now Hampshire has its very own standalone store. Perfectly timed for us to add many, MANY items to our Christmas lists.
NEW RESTAURANT FOR ALRESFORD
From the creators of Winchester’s Kyoto Kitchen, the latest spot on the block is Khin Khao Thai restaurant – newly opened over in Alresford. Serving traditional Thai cuisine with an interior decorated with items straight in from the Land of Smiles, we’ve got super high hopes for this one.
