Loving the look of the brand new gallery by Josie Eastwood opening over in Stockbridge. Josie’s current gallery has won the Muddy Stiletto’s Award for Best Art Gallery two years in a row, and I can’t wait to see the new space when it opens Sun 11 Nov. Keep your eyes peeled on our What’s On guide for more details.

A cat café – really!

Cat Cafe Romsey Image

If you’re fond of a moggy then swing to Romsey where you can find the recently opened cat cafe (Yes! CAT CAFE!), Paws for Thought. Book in, grab yourself a slice of cake and a cup of coffee to relax and unwind stroking one of their lovely pussycats for a bit of a treat. Not only do they ply you with food and kitty-cats, but they also offer help and advice if you’re looking to adopt your own feline friend as well.

Portsmouth’s got talent

A spot of creativity news in Portsmouth as the Guildhall, in association with Victorious Festival, opens the new Guildhall Sudio. This is a brand new space dedicated to showcasing young, new and emerging talent in its 200 capacity venue – and looking at the line-up of what’s on it looks like its going to be cracking cultural addition to the county. There’s an open day on Sun 21 Oct to have a nose around and book tickets to some of the shows.

Monkey business

Just over the border into Berkshire- hey it’s OK, you’re allowed to escape the border from time to time –  word is that the super luxe and highly anticipated Monkey Island Hotel will soon open its doors. Situated in Bray (foodie hotspot alert! This place is stuffed with no less than four Michelin Star eateries), the new hotel will open with a carefully crafted interior designed by New York-based Champalimaud Design. The whispers are Executive Chef Will Hemming will be bringing his signature flair to the Brasserie and there will be a Whiskey Snug and Monkey Bar too. We’re expecting big things from this spot so I’ll let you know as soon as you can book.
