<p>It&#8217;s been a long time coming. Now, at long last, the ribbon has been cut on a stunning <a href="https://hambledonvineyard.co.uk/pages/restaurant" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">new restaurant, bar and tasting room at Hambledon Vineyard</a>. And boy, we&#8217;re here for it. Housed in an oak barn overlooking the vineyard, it&#8217;s headed up by Head Chef Nick Edgar. (Formerly of Michelin-starred eateries Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons and The Samling). Superflash is pretty confident we can expect good things.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-called-to-the-bar-for-cheese-and-vino">Called to the Bar &#8211; for cheese and vino </h2>



<p>Speaking of tasty openings, if you fancy yourself as a connoisseur, you&#8217;ll want to check out Winchester&#8217;s new <a href="https://www.margaux-lounge.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Margaux</a> bar-lounge. Now open on Jury Street, pick and slurp your way through artisan cheese and a curated wine list. Yum.</p>

<p>When last in Hampshire, Jason Donovan was strutting around the stage in suspenders in <em>The Rocky Horror Picture Show</em> at the newly-opened Fareham Live. And while the look will be changing somewhat, we&#8217;re delighted to report he&#8217;s coming back! <a href="https://www.mayflower.org.uk/whats-on/joseph-and-the-amazing-technicolor-dreamcoat-2025" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">See him for one week only in <em>Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat</em> at Mayflower Southampton</a> &#8211; the only chance to see him on the 2025 UK tour. </p>

<p>Staying in Winchester, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DGD2dYcI4e0/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">family Muddy</a> were one of the first to dine at the <a href="https://www.pizzaexpress.com/winchester-high-street" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">all-new PizzaExpress, now open on the High Street</a>. Friendly staff were in their element serving up the classics. And there was a real buzz about the place, from the open-plan kitchen to the fun wall art, including Winchester&#8217;s (Great) King Alfred sipping a whopping glass of wine. Cheers, Alfie.</p>

<p>Fancy a low-cost outing? Freezing February isn&#8217;t traditionally the time of year for sandcastle building. However, young visitors at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/FarehamShopping" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fareham Shopping Centre</a> can fill their buckets to their hearts content with the opening of a new pop-up beach. On until October, it&#8217;s also got a grassed play area with lawn games like giant chess and Jenga.</p>

<p>The New Forest&#8217;s <a href="https://paultonspark.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Paulton&#8217;s Park</a> has just opened for the season and TV&#8217;s Soloman-Swash family were among the first to strap in for the rides &#8211; complete with reality TV film crew in tow. Over the years, Paulton&#8217;s has seen loads of celeb families pass through the gates. From Sophie Ellis-Bextor, to Katherine Jenkins, Ayda Williams and Michael McIntyre. And who could forget that infamous <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-59376386" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">rambling conference tribute from ex-Prime Minister, Boris Johnson</a>. He described Peppa Pig World as &#8220;very much my kind of place.&#8221;</p>

<p>Families on the Island and mainland will be delighted to learn that <a href="https://robin-hill.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Robin Hill</a> Country Park will reopen on 4 April. And it&#8217;ll be even bigger than before. 15 brand new attractions include real mini diggers, an 18-hole crazy golf course, an electric boat safari and an indoor ice rink.&nbsp;</p>



<p>And hot off the press, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1006771781494917&amp;set=pb.100064863121272.-2207520000&amp;type=3" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Robin Hill have announced they&#8217;re partnering with the Isle of Wight&#8217;s fine dining Heron Restaurant</a>. The new smokehouse-style eatery collaboration is scheduled to open this summer.  </p>

<p>Reviving the traditional-looking exterior and name of a historic Island furniture shop dating back to 1869, inside, it&#8217;s a distinctly modern story at Newport&#8217;s shiny new <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wadhams_cafe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wadhams café</a>. Sadly left empty in 2001 when Top Shop quit town, Wadhams&#8217; interior has been transformed into a paired-back café space serving a big selection of barista coffees and matcha frappes.</p>
