<p>Reopened after a major redevelopment, Superflash can&#8217;t wait to finally dock at the new-look <a href="https://www.idealcollection.co.uk/venues/boathouse-swanwick/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boathouse at Swanwick Marina</a> on the River Hamble. Part of the award-winning Ideal Collection, alongside the beautiful views the waterfront restaurant has everything from brunch and light bites to slap-up meals of fresh market fish and steak cooked over coals on the menu. Look out too for <a href="https://www.idealcollection.co.uk/venues/boathouse-swanwick/">Sundown Sessions</a> this month, a blend of nostalgic and chilled music to go with your evening waterside G&amp;Ts. Bliss.</p>

<p>Staying with a nautical theme and along the coast in Emsworth, all traces of The Brookfield Hotel have now vanished. In its place, <a href="https://ropemakeremsworth.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ropemaker</a> is a super-stylish new pub with 43 boutique rooms, the second in the new Heartwood Collection of Inns (a sister company to Brasserie Blanc). Outside, there&#8217;s a pretty courtyard and cool new private dining beach huts. </p>



<p>When the hotel sold, Emsworth locals were pretty quick to pick up on the new owner&#8217;s Raymond connection. A glance at the foodie menu and it certainly looks as if they won&#8217;t be disappointed with his hallmark, elevated brasserie fare and top local ingredients like Isle of Wight tomatoes, Chalk Stream trout and Jude&#8217;s Ice Cream. Expect a full Muddy debrief very soon.</p>

<p>Surely the summer&#8217;s hottest opening for Portsmouth, pretty botanical decor and deliciously tasty Thai food is firmly in the menu at Gunwharf Quays with the opening of a new eatery from the super-popular <a href="https://www.gigglingsquid.com/restaurant/portsmouth/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Giggling Squid</a> restaurant group in the former Loch Fyne building. Popping by, Muddy feasted on Thai tapas and a divine cocktail from the huge menu, followed by an epic serve of pad thai with whopping prawns. Bellies beware.</p>

<p>Not much gets past your local Superflash, especially when it comes to cocktails. But despite declaring themselves as &#8216;the worst kept secret in Lymington&#8217; the bijou and rather beautiful-looking <a href="https://www.instagram.com/grayslymington/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grays</a> cocktail bar which opened in July has definitely been flying under the radar &#8211; so much so we nearly missed it! Reviews so far from locals have been overwhelmingly good. Muddy will, of course, be dropping in imminently to corroborate. </p>

Snoop through the homewares, gadgets and gifts then treat yourself to a Moon Roast cappuccino, sloth sponge or kitschy Magpie cat mug.</p>

<p>The landmark Isle of Wight park was well-known for hot air balloons, Christmas light trails and other magical seasonal displays. But since it went up for sale, the future of <a href="https://robin-hill.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Robin Hill Country Park</a> has hung in the balance. Now, Superflash can confirm a new buyer for the site has been found and the attraction is expected to reopen in 2025. Before then, Island bands and tribute acts will perform at the fund-raising <a href="https://www.warriorfestiow.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Warrior Fest</a> on Sat 21 &#8211; Sun 22 September.</p>
