<p>Much excitement about Winchester&#8217;s <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Autumn House (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.instagram.com/autumnhouse_winchester/" target="_blank">Autumn House</a>, a gorgeous new coffee shop, bottle shop and wine bar in the square owned by Alex Donnan and Laura Turner from General Store and the new Pump House, opened this summer. They&#8217;ve also cut the ribbon on a homeware and cookware department on the first floor, full of local and independent brands. </p>



<p>And more great coffee (and baked goodies) is on the cards with the impeding launch of a new <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="GAIL's bakery (opens in a new tab)" href="https://gailsbread.co.uk/" target="_blank">GAIL&#8217;s bakery</a> in Fleet, opening in the former HSBC building. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hollywood in Hampshire</h2>



<p>Let&#8217;s get right to it, shall we? Fair to say we&#8217;ve had a pretty good summer for celeb-watching this year. In June, Hollywood&#8217;s Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller were spotted filming Kristen Scott Thomas&#8217;s hot new film <em>My Mother&#8217;s Wedding</em> in the tiny, oh-so-pretty village of Ashley, near Stockbridge. </p>



<p>Johansson was also seen Portsmouth in May, reportedly wearing a navy uniform on the HMS Prince of Wales, although the jury&#8217;s still out on exactly what the project was. </p>

<p>While in Winchester, she stopped in at <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://turtlebay.co.uk/restaurants/winchester" target="_blank">Turtle Bay</a> for a bite to eat. And the sushi-loving star was so impressed by online reviews of Winchester&#8217;s Michelin-guide rated <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Kyoto Kitchen (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.kyotokitchen.co.uk/" target="_blank">Kyoto Kitchen</a>, she told staff there she&#8217;d flown straight in from LA to try the tasting menu. So Scarlett, what did you think?!</p>



<p>The release date has yet to be confirmed for <em>My Mother&#8217;s Wedding</em>, which Scott Thomas both directs and stars in. Superflashy can confirm the movie follows the story of three romantically dysfunctional sisters who return to their childhood home for the third wedding of their twice-widowed mother, Diana. </p>

<p>After, the actress and director posted &#8220;Just finished principle photography on my film. I got wet, got Covid and took a lot of trains. It was utterly exhausting being director and actress, but I loved every minute.&#8221; Infact, starring in and directing the movie and unluckily catching Covid during filming left her so exhausted that she escaped to a £15,000-a-week spa in Switzerland once the final shot was in the can. That&#8217;ll get your glow back!</p>



<p>More Winchester celeb spots? Oh go on then&#8230; Helicoptering into town this summer, in July, Gordon Ramsay was spotted filming an episode of his &#8216;Apprentice&#8217;-style reality series &#8211; Future Food Stars &#8211; at the swanky <a href="https://www.exclusive.co.uk/lainston-house/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Lainston House (opens in a new tab)">Lainston House</a> hotel. Wonder who gets the chop?</p>

<p>Less glamourous (but characteristically Richard Ayoade), the Travel Man himself was headed to the Isle of Wight on Wightlink ferry when this bin/not a bin clearly put him in mind of the 1964 surrealist masterpiece by Rene Magritte:&nbsp;<em>This is Not an Apple</em>. </p>



<p>Responding simply to his waggish Tweet, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Wightlink replied (opens in a new tab)" href="https://twitter.com/wightlinkferry" target="_blank">Wightlink replied</a>: ‘We empower our bins to write their own story.’ Quite.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top chef hotfoots it to the Montagu Arms</h2>

<p>We don&#8217;t want to jinx it, especially as one of our Hampshire hotels has <em>finally</em> managed to get a bone-fide (Green) Michelin Star in the latest guide this year. But we can&#8217;t help but feel a bit excited at news that <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="The&nbsp;Montagu Arms (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.montaguarmshotel.co.uk/" target="_blank">The&nbsp;Montagu Arms</a> in Beaulieu has appointed&nbsp;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Nathan Eades (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.montaguarmshotel.co.uk/blog/Meet_The_Team-Nathan_Eades.html" target="_blank">Nathan Eades</a>&nbsp;as&nbsp;Executive Chef at the hotel’s 3 AA rosette, Michelin Guide-rated fine dining&nbsp;restaurant,&nbsp;The Terrace. </p>



<p>Eades has over 16 years of experience in the industry, and joins the Montagu Arms from The Wild Rabbit in Oxfordshire, where he was Head Chef for over four years. Will he bring us another star? A tasty prospect, that&#8217;s for sure.</p>
