A perfect pit stop for cyclists, walkers and weekend coffee lovers, The Yard is a rural café and events space near Alresford. Occupying what was once a 19th century outbuilding for livestock, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Transformed in 2020, the former barn is now a light-filled café with indoor and outdoor seating, including a cosy snug room with comfy armchairs and a wood-burning stove.

Open Wednesdays – Sundays, The Yard’s delicious freshly-brewed coffee comes from neighbouring business Moon Roast, a specialist Hampshire coffee roaster. Also on the menu, customers love the tasty toasties, salads, seasonal specials, soups, cakes and juices, many made using local ingredients.

Round here, the last Friday of the month is often a cause for major celebration as The Yard opens its doors in the evening for cocktails and street food. However, this is much more than a café. With a regular programme of brilliant events, from live music to visiting cookery writers, the versatile space serves as a cultural hub, too.
