Quob Park Estate, Wickham

Love a drop of the English Sparkling? Visit this Hampshire wine producer, restaurant and wine merchant, pronto.

English sparkling wine’s reputation continues in the ascendent. And Hampshire growers and producers are right up there as some of the best rated internationally.

Among them is Quob Park Estate, a relative newcomer already gaining a reputation for their tasty drops – on taste here as part of a tour, fine dining experiences or wine merchant tasting.

Located just outside the village of Wickham, the historic, stunning Quob Park Estate is listed in the Domesday Book as belonging to the “Lords of The Manor of North Fareham”, comprising some 170 acres nestled within a ‘Natural Clos’. Entrepreneur Rob Terry and his wife Tracey plated 20-acres of vineyards at the Quob Park Estate in 2015 and released their first wines in 2020.

The underlying chalky soil at Quob Park Estate combined with higher-than-average temperatures provided by the Natural Clos provide a similar terroir to that of the Champagne region – ideal conditions for seriously good sparkling wine. Fancy giving your palate a treat? The upgraded tour option lets you compare Quob Park’s English Sparkling Wine with some top Champagnes and Prosecco. Now that’s what we call a contest.

As well as tours, tastings and events, Quob Park also has a wine merchant brand, The Great Cellar, which offers a Wine Club membership with discounts and priority access. Open to members and vineyard guests, The Great Cellar wine merchant curates a list of 1000+ wines with over 50+ wines available to sample remotely or by the glass in the dedicated Tasting Lounges.

Touring foodies can really dine out well at Quob Park, with seasonal fine dining menus, Sunday lunches, afternoon teas, wine and cheese tastings and special events to look out for.

Other Quob Park lifestyle brands worth a peek:

VINTAGE BAR BOX

Planning a special occasion or corporate event? Quob Park has a dedicated horsebox bar company customers and guests will happily giddy up to for a drink. Vintage Bar Box hires or rents out beautiful, restored horseboxes converted into multi-functional use event trailers, from a wedding bar to a branded bar or festival DJ booth.

HAMPSHIRE WINE TOURS

Wine lovers that fancy venturing further afield can do just that with Hampshire Wine Tours, a private tour of award-winning vineyards and wineries in Hampshire, West Sussex or the Surrey Hills, travelling in a Land Rover Discovery in a private group of up to six people. The bespoke trip winds through beautiful scenery and thatched-cottage villages around the South Downs National Park to visit three award-winning wineries/vineyards, including private vineyards not normally open to the public, tastings at the cellar door and of course loads of Insta-worthy photo-ops.

GOURMET HAMPERS

In the market for gifts? All the gourmet good-things-in-life (chocolate, cheese, chutney and, of course, fine wine) are available in traditional hampers from Quob Park Estate’s sister brands, Le Hamper and The Gourmet Gift Company, available online and at the Estate.
