New Park Manor, Brockenhurst

Muddy says: A luxe, family-friendly hotel in the beautiful New Forest National Park, the historic New Park Manor has a spa, complimentary crèche and more.

A luxe hotel that really gets families? Step forward New Park Manor, nestled in the heart of the New Forest near Brockenhurst and part of the brilliant Luxury Family Hotels group. Once the hunting lodge of Charles II, this historic spot now rolls out the red carpet for modern-day parents and their broods – dogs included. With wild ponies on the doorstep and top local days out (hello, Peppa Pig World), the location is peak family gold.

The vibe? Understated country glamour meets practical parenting dreams. There’s a proper Ofsted-registered crèche, kids’ menus that aren’t just beige food on a plate, an outdoor playground, games room, cinema, and – our personal favourite – the Four Bears Den, offering two hours of complimentary childcare per night’s stay. Genius. While the littlies are entertained, you can sneak off for a massage or park yourself in the hot tub with a chilled glass of something.

Speaking of spas – New Park’s has had a full glow-up thanks to a recent £7m refurb. You’ll find Scandi-chic interiors, forest views, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam and not one but two hot tubs. Fancy a techy twist on your wellness? Don’t miss the Somadome meditation pod, a clever piece of kit using light and sound to ease stress and restore your zen. Bliss.

Food-wise, The Vinery is your go-to for relaxed, family-friendly meals, while The Stag Restaurant ups the ante with New Forest produce, smart dishes, and roaring fires in winter. With 25 plush bedrooms (now all updated in the refurb), this is the kind of stay where everyone feels spoiled – from tots to teens to knackered parents. In short: Muddy loves.
