Mill Rythe Coastal Village, Hayling Island

Holiday park? Not as you know it! This marina-view coastal village has luxe, insta-worthy interiors, a new cocktail bar and fun facilities for all the family.

Located right on the coast and with marina views, on Hampshire’s Hayling Island, Mill Rythe Coastal Village reopened in spring 2021. A family holiday destination since the 1940s, it’s now one of 23 modern sites owned by Away Resorts, which also runs Sandy Balls in the New Forest.

In the last few years, Away Resorts have invested a whopping £10m in bringing the holiday experience at Mill Rythe Coastal Village bang-up-to-date, upgrading and replacing existing chalets and transforming them into 85 modern caravans and luxury lodges with flat-screen TVs, comfy beds and outdoor spaces.

Exclusive TriBeCa accommodation brings the Manhattan loft look to the Great British caravan, with panoramic glass sliding doors and stand-alone, roll-top bathtub – complete with hidden TV behind the mirror. And relaxxxx.

All-new park facilities include The Missing Squirrel Lounge Bar, serving up superb theatrical cocktails (or just your favourite Friday G&T), a sports court and a heated indoor swimming pool. 2022 saw the opening of the outdoor splash zone, adventure playground and brand-new family dining and entertainment spot, the Green Room.

Situated between Portsmouth and Chichester harbour, linked to the mainland by both road bridge and ferry, Hayling Island is a mecca for sailing, windsurfers and kitesurfers. Day trippers and staycationers come here for beautiful coastal walks and play along three miles of sand and shingle beaches. And, of course, good old-fashioned fish ‘n’ chips by the sea (mind those seagulls).

Hidden staycation holiday gem? You betcha. Better get booking.
