Bombay Sapphire Distillery, Whitchurch

Muddy Says: Home to one of the most famous gins in the world. Take a fascinating tour, sample a few cocktails or even hire it out as a venue. Cheers!

If you’ve ever sipped a G&T, you’ll know the name Bombay Sapphire. The legendary tipple is infused with no less than ten botanicals from the four corners of the world, something that has made it famous the world over.

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery is SO much more than a producer though. This is the place to go if you’re committed to your gin or even if you’re just the tad curious about the alchemy that happens to create the drink.

Starting in the bar (hurrah), the Discover Experience lets you pick and taste G&T using self-serve gin dispensers. Then it’s on to the comfy Cinema Room to be immersed in all things Bombay Sapphire in preparation for a tour, which takes in exotic botanicals in the Glasshouses, a sensory experience in the Botanicals Dry Room and the chance to learn about the rare vapour infusion distillation process Bombay Sapphire uses.

As well as Discovery Experience daily guided tours, there’s some brilliant cocktail masterclasses here too. Learn more about Bombay Bramble and Bombay Citron Presse, what makes them unique and how to enjoy them in cocktails in the Infusions Experience. Fans of the Special Edition Bombay Sapphire Sunset Gin can become an expert home mixologist and learn the techniques to make tasty sundowner cocktails in the Sunset Experience.

For the the full VIP treatment, how about the Premier Cru Experience? After sipping a Premier Cru French 75 cocktail, you’ll get exclusive, behind-the-scenes access into India House, the main gin production space where Bombay gins are distilled, as well as a Spanish Tapas-style lunch (with another Premier Cru cocktail) and a personalised bottle of Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru to take home.

The distillery also offers the glorious buildings out as function venues (I mean, just look at them – they’re fabulous), making them ideal for a wedding reception or private event. With a number of different spaces to choose from the team at the distillery will cater to your requirements with the finesse that comes with the Bombay Sapphire name.

Need to knows: Bombay Sapphire Distillery experiences must be booked online in advance. When you visit, please remember to dress for the weather as some of the experience is outside.
