The Bel and the Dragon in Kingsclere is exactly the type of place people leave the hustle and bustle of the city for. This old country inn is flanked with glorious chalk hills and fresh springs around it, and is only a stone’s throw from the beautiful Watership Down and Highclere Castle (yep, that’s Downton Abbey).

On top of these beautiful surroundings and easy access to outdoor activities, their menu is full of carefully selected produce and mouth-watering dishes. They also do a pretty special Sunday Roasts and have children’s options for the smaller visitors.
