You NEED to try this cocktail
Take your bevvy up a notch with a fantastic twist on a classic drink, courtesy of Helen McGinn aka Knackered Mothers Wine Club.
Spring is finally here! The sun is (mostly) out and it’s the perfect weather for kicking back in the garden with a well-deserved drink. However, if you fancy something a little bit more special for your al fresco bevvy then how about stepping it up a notch?
Helen McGinn is a renowned wine writer with best-selling books to her name, a regular slot on This Morning as well as being the founder of The Knackered Mothers Wine Club. It’s quite easy to see that when it comes to drinking, Helen knows her stuff (definitely our kinda gal).
With the fabulous weather on its way, we asked Helen to share with us one of her fave cocktails for the warmer season. Taken from her best-selling book Homemade Cocktails, this is the perfect way to wow any guests or just zhuzz up a staple drink for something a little more exciting.
COCONUT G&T (serves 12)
600ml coconut water
180ml fresh lime juice (about 6 fresh limes)
600ml of tonic water
Fresh mint leaves and wedges of lime
Pour the gin, coconut water and lime juice into a jug and give it a stir, then leave in the fridge to chill until you’re ready. Set out your glasses and add a handful of ice to each. Pour in the gin mixture to about halfway and top up with chilled tonic water. Add a sprig of mint and a wedge of lime to each glass, gently squeezing the lime before dropping it in.
