Sweaters with Edge
Teenage angst in finest merino.
We have a spot as soft as fine Italian merino wool for Hades slogan knitwear.
In fact, Muddy’s Kerry Potter is rocking this pretty Bonjour Tristesse number today at Muddy HQ, with its quirky combo of scarlet embroidered legend over baby pink wool.
The brand’s not on your radar?
You’re forgiven – the Hades label is actually a one-woman-band in the form of twenty-something Londoner, Cassie Holland.
It only launched last year hitting the ground running with Alexa Chung (ahem, Winchester’s Peter Symonds College Alumna) shot at Glasto in a ‘Smiths’ emblazoned sweater from the debut collection.
That first collection was all about rockstars — Patti Smith and The Slits on the chest of many an Insta influencer (and if you haven’t heard of The Slits then scoot thee to Spotify to hear their raw, punk girl funk and viscera version of Heard it Through The Grapevine).
Such high levels of hipness doesn’t come cheap, most sweaters are around £160 but, price wise, they do compare favourably to Bella Freud’s similar, yet, higher profile versions which can set you back almost £300.
The jumpers are hand-knitted and embroidered in small batches. Fancy treating yourself? Send us pics if you do.
