It’s in the jeans – new season denim we love
We're staging a fashion intervention. Step away from the loungewear, it is time to get back into jeans. We've scoured the high street and local indies for the best of the bunch.
Buying jeans can feel like a unique form of torture. For me, it’s up there with swimwear shopping and a visit to the dentist. I love them, I live in them, but finding a pair that suck me in, lift my droopy bottom, keep the muffin tops tucked in and make my legs look like Kate Moss’s, well that’s a challenge – one I’m happy to accept.
Made in the Welsh town of Cardigan, Hiut is a real British fashion success story making world class jeans (Meghan Markle’s a fan) and supporting local communities. Made using organic cotton, the Betty Black tapered leg is a worthy investment – super-flattering, high waisted and at leg which suits most body shapes. Plus you don’t have to wash them for six months and you get free repairs for life.
Great denim, great price and the fash pack absolutely love ’em. Mango’s denim is on fire right now and the slouchy cut are calling our name, Having lived in joggers for six months, these jeans are the baby step we need to get back into jeans.
M&S sells a pair of these £19.50 Sienna straight leg jeans every minute. Is it any wonder at that price! They are the bargain of the century, but also one of the best fits EVER. Straight legs look great on everyone plus M&S tick eco box using less water in the dyeing process and sourcing sustainable cotton. Available in six shades, why not buy one in every colour?
Whistles barrel leg jeans are an absolute Muddy favourite. They flash a bit of ankle and don’t cling to any lumps and bumps. It was love at first sight. Off white denim is a hot hue for autumn, but probably only works for those who don’t slosh coffee down themselves. Not me then.
Now £76, was £95
The holy grail! A jean so smart they’ll take you anywhere – work, rest or play. The dark marine colour, front patch pockets and wider leg make a stylish change from boyfriend and skinny fits. Plus they’re a bargain at just 30 quid, so if wider legs lose fashion favour you won’t be crying at your credit card bill.
