<p>Café by day, cosy restaurant by night, The Greenhouse in Fleet serves up veggie and vegan-friendly fare. The daytime menu includes organically-roasted coffee, cake sandwiches, soups and salads. Come the evening, meat-free burgers and curries of all descriptions sell-out fast on the specials board. Follow the whaft of frying onions and sniff out the team at Fleet Market for meat-free burgers, bratwurst and brownies. </p>

<p>Moved to the Albert Road in 2023, plant-based café Offbeat has settled in well at its new Southsea location. On the menu is a local and internationally-inspired menu of imaginative all-day brunch choices like New Forest mushroom French toast, Indian crepes and Korean BBQ beef.</p>

<p>Interpreting exotic dishes and flavours from all over the Indian subcontinent, Késarum is a modern vegan restaurant and bar in the city centre – a tasty travel experience without leaving Hampshire. Right on Southampton’s ‘QE2 mile’, it’s housed inside a grade II-listed former bank and regularly gets rave reviews from diners for its plant-based fine dining. Seasonal menus concentrate on different regions and if you find yourself a bit bewildered, there are helpful drink pairings on the menu.</p>

<p>Starting out as a trendy food truck, The Tinker’s Granddaughter vegan restaurant on Lymington High Street is named as a tribute to the grandfather of owner and vegan chef Robyn (‘Bobs’) Chiedozie. Now parked-up over three floors, the neighbourhood daytime plant-based eatery, deli and store overlooking the pretty town&#8217;s popular thoroughfare is light and airy with casual coffee shop vibes. Expect daily, plant-based seasonal specials, (dairy-free) coffee and cake, bagels, deli salad boxes, wine and cheese plates. Look out too for special weekend brunches, cheese and wine and ‘secret’ supper club events.</p>

<p>Come for a walk in this beautiful stretch of the South Downs and make a pit stop at the Beech Café. Part of a 55-acre Sustainability Centre, everything it dishes up (veggie and vegan) is homemade. Fruit and veg is grown on-site by the Fitzroy Group, a local charity supporting people with learning disabilities. Specials change seasonally but you can be sure of healthy winter warmers. </p>

<p>Another strong Southsea vegan offer. Mangosteen on the Palmerston Road in Southsea offers up an eco-aware menu of Asian, British and international dishes made using&nbsp;local, sustainable and organic produce. Look out for Bang Bang broccoli, Vietnamese bao buns, butternut squash wellington and Jungle curry.</p>
