*Foodie klaxon* The results are in, so let's see which restaurants and gastropubs made it into the prestigious Michelin Guide for 2019 in Hampshire.
Hot off the press – or should that be out of the oven? – are this year’s Michelin Guide star ratings. If you’re in search of a fancy-pants dinner (er, always), don’t book anything until you’ve had a peek at our round-up showing where the foodie stars have fallen across our county.
Despite having a wealth of fabulous eateries across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, three, in particular, have hit this year’s list securing either one-star or Bib Gourmand status, respectively.
The Black Rat, Winchester – 1 Star
Winchester’s finest, The Black Rat retains its Michelin Star ranking and we’re not really surprised. With their own herb and vegetable garden on-site, as well as their own in-house forager, their food is as fresh as it is delicious. It prides itself on an informal and cozy vibe, but with excellent service provided by Head Chef Jon Marsden-Jones and his team.
The Crown Inn, Upton – Bib Gourmand
We’re total foodie cochons at Muddy so no surprise that we reviewed the delectable Crown Inn way back in 2017! This relaxed foodie mecca serves up some gorgeous grub – think fresh soft yolk Scotch Eggs and brunches that would make Instagram weep with joy.
Pulpo Negro, Alresford – Bib Gourmand
Pulpo Negro serves up amazing tapas that transports you to sunnier climes. Boasting a huge array of meat, seafood and all sorts, you won’t struggle to pick from their amazing line-up in their relaxed Iberian-esque setting. Muy bien.
Thinking of heading out of county? Have a gander at the full list of Michelin stars for 2019.
