Tŷ Newydd Creative Writing Centre
Muddy says: A special place to retreat and write. Set between the sea and mountains of North Wales, expect residential creative-writing courses taught by professional wordsmiths including Carol Ann Duffy, Lemn Sissay and Patrick McGuinness.
Tŷ Newydd is the National Writing Centre of Wales. Established in 1990, thousands of budding writers have passed through its iconic teal front doors to retreat, reflect and create. The centre specialises in residential creative-writing courses tutored by professional writers including Carol Ann Duffy, Lemn Sissay and Patrick McGuinness.
Courses cover a variety of genres, forms and styles including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, scriptwriting, nature writing, illustrating, storytelling and yoga.
Tŷ Newydd was the last home of former Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, and it retains recognisable touches from architect Clough Williams-Ellis, famous for his quirky Italianate village: Portmeirion.
