Josie Eastwood Fine Art, Stockbridge
Muddy says: A friendly, approachable consultancy with a profound knowledge of contemporary art. Shows are limited to three per year giving Josie time to really understand her clients and “truffle hunt” for them; finding the best works from the very best artists.
If you’ve ever found your typical highbrow London gallery intimidating, then you need to visit one of our Muddy Award winning gallery’s thrice yearly shows.
Important, contemporary works are hung in a soaring, light-filled 16th Century drove barn set on the banks of the River Test in Houghton, near Stockbridge. The vibe is welcoming and friendly; visitors wander around as if no-one is watching, the best way to view art, but know that Josie is on hand should any questions arise.
Expect paintings, ceramics and small bronzes from established and emerging artists found by the art consultant on her visits to studios from the southern tip of Cornwall to Cambridgeshire and London.
Limiting the gallery to a set amount of shows is a conscious decision so that Josie and her team can focus on private clients and interior designers. They often visit homes to get a feel for what piece of contemporary art would suit a certain space or room and spend lots of time “truffle hunting” (Josie’s words, what a lovely description) for clients, finding excellent artists and choosing their very best works.
The next show is at the end of January when the gallery will exhibit smaller paintings over a weekend. To join the mailing list email: email@example.com
