Muddy says: We love Alresford’s independent woman’s fitness boutique, expect modern design, high performance sportswear, spot-on advice — from gait analysis to sports bra-fitting — plus a fun, supportive community that takes woman’s fitness seriously.
Just off the high street in that Muddy Mecca that is Alresford, we give you the friendly, welcoming face of the uber-cool athleisure explosion that is happening right now. If you still associate sports with smelly locker rooms, baggy track-suits and pile ’em high chain-stores where most of the stock caters for male sports, then think again.
Fitique’s interior is beautifully designed: fresh, modern and totally in keeping with Alresford’s Hampshire meets Hampstead vibe. It is owned by women, and the trainers, leggings, sports bras and so on are unashamedly for women. Brands, from ASICS to Panache sports bras, are chosen to make you look and feel special, but most importantly to make you run faster, swim smoother and yoga erm, bendier.
Run by the dynamic trio of Rebecca Caplan, Victoria Gedye & Karen Hazlitt, Team Fitique are razor-sharp focused on performance. Not in a scary, Olympic Gold or nothing, way simply that if you are going to spend good money on a pair of trainers then you’d better buy exactly the type you need for say trail running, and you’d better make sure that the fit is spot on.
In-store there is a gait analysis machine and the knowledgeable owners will know exactly what kind of foot/swim/stretchy-bendy wear you will require, including sports bra measuring to keep those puppies in tip-top, non-stretchy condition. You can book an appointment for this online.
