Movie nights are going alfresco at Milestones Museum this May, as Outdoor Cinema UK rolls into town with a feel-good weekend of big-screen favourites under the stars. Expect picnic blankets, deckchairs, crowd-pleasing classics and all the nostalgic summer-evening vibes.



Set on the museum grounds in Basingstoke, the line-up kicks off with Footloose on 8 May, before a double bill of The Greatest Showman and Dirty Dancing lands on 9 May. Family favourite Beauty &amp; the Beast and Queen-powered singalong Bohemian Rhapsody round off the weekend on 10 May.

Grab your picnic hamper and a bottle of something chilled &#8211; Adventure Cinema&#8217;s outdoor cinema season is landing in style at Walhampton School this May. Set in the gloriously manicured grounds of the Grade II-listed estate near the New Forest, this dreamy Hampshire backdrop is made for movie nights under the stars.



This year&#8217;s stellar line-up includes feel-good favourite The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long on 15 May, family crowd-pleaser Sing and the sequinned chaos of Mamma Mia! ExtrABBAganza on 16 May, before wrapping up with The Gruffalo and Stick Man, Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration and swoonsome outdoor cinema classic Pride and Prejudice on 17 May.

Blockbuster films, a glass or two of fizz and the rather fabulous sight of private jets taking off behind the screen &#8211; luxe design hotel Aviator is back with it&#8217;s First Class Screen on the Lawn outdoor cinema.



This year, the line-up includes romcom royalty Pretty Woman on 22 May, family favourite Zootropolis 2 and adrenaline-fuelled F1: The Movie on 23 May, before singalong classic Grease closes the weekend on 24 May. Lawn tickets start from £15, or upgrade to VIP for a reserved terrace table and Champagne on arrival. Want to go full luxe? With its grand mansion as a backdrop the stately Stansted Park makes a pretty spectacular spot for a night under the stars and always attracts a lively crowd.



This year, the feel-good Adventure Cinema line-up kicks off with Dirty Dancing on 3 July, followed by a family-friendly double bill of Frozen Sing-A-Long and the glitter-filled Mamma Mia! ExtrABBAganza on 4 July. On 5 July, expect everything from woodland adventures in The Gruffalo and Stick Man to swoony classic Pride and Prejudice and nostalgic favourite Back To The Future. Think deckchairs, dancing, singalongs and golden-hour cocktails.

Outdoor cinema gets a gloriously grand setting when Adventure Cinema arrives at The Vyne. Surrounded by rolling Hampshire countryside, the Grade I-listed National Trust estate is about as dreamy as it gets for a picnic-and-Prosecco summer evening movie night.



Booking up now, the 2026 line-up opens with swoonsome classic Pride and Prejudice on 16 July, before family favourite The Gruffalo and Stick Man and the glittering concert spectacular EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert on 17 July. Expect plenty of dancing in the aisles for Mamma Mia! ExtrABBAganza on 18 July, while Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration rounds things off in suitably dramatic style on 19 July.

For a more grown-up take on outdoor cinema, Lainston House is hosting a month of movie nights in its gorgeous Kitchen Garden this August. Think fairy lights, sunset screenings, woodfired pizza and blankets under the stars at one of Hampshire’s dreamiest country house hotels.



The line-up is packed with crowd-pleasers, including Bridesmaids on 6 August, Pretty Woman on 8 August, The Greatest Showman on 13 August, Mamma Mia on 14 August and Notting Hill on 15 August. Later screenings include The Princess Diaries (22 August), Thelma and Louise (27 August) and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (29 August). Tickets start from £20, or upgrade to include pizza and brownies for the ultimate cosy night in the garden. Better still? Cinema guests can bag 10% off an overnight stay (because nobody wants the magic to end at the credits).
